Junior Market Research Analyst
About Dune Strategy Dune Strategy is a management consulting firm based in Dubai. We advise international investors, family groups, and sovereign-linked entities on the commercial decisions that define their position across the GCC, from market entry and regional expansion to complex transactions and joint ventures. Our work rests on a current reading of the market: how family ownership dynamics, regulatory shifts, and sovereign capital priorities actually influence outcomes. We keep a deliberately small portfolio of active engagements so that partners stay involved in the commercial conversations where decisions take shape. That means a junior analyst here sits close to the work rather than at a distance from it. We are hiring a Junior Market Research Analyst to support that effort, on a permanent, full-time basis, working hybrid from Dubai. What You Will Do You will spend most of your time turning scattered, incomplete information into something a partner can use in a live commercial conversation. Some days that means tracing ownership structures through filings and public records. Other days it means building a short brief on a regulatory path that has just changed, or writing up what a counterparty's recent moves suggest about their priorities. In practice, the work looks like this: - Research markets, sectors, and individual companies across the region using public filings, news, government sources, and subscription databases. - Map counterparties: who owns what, who decides, and where the real influence sits within a family group or state-linked entity. - Track regulatory and policy developments and flag what they mean for an active engagement. - Prepare briefing materials for partner-led meetings, including one-page summaries, comparison tables, and background notes. - Pull together market intelligence on pricing, competitive positioning, and local operating conditions. - Check facts and sources carefully. A wrong figure in a client brief costs more than a slow one. - Join internal working sessions and take notes that turn discussion into a clear written position. What We Are Looking For We care more about how you think than what you have already done. This is an entry-level role, so we are not looking for a long track record. We are looking for someone who reads carefully, reasons from evidence, and writes plainly. - Clear thinking: you can take a messy question, break it into parts, and work out what actually needs answering. - Strong writing: short sentences, no padding, and a visible line of reasoning. We will read your writing closely. - Genuine curiosity about how businesses and investors make decisions in this part of the world. - Comfort with ambiguity. Briefs are often incomplete, and the useful answer is the one that works with what is available. - A pragmatic mindset: you are willing to give a view and defend it with reasons. - Care with numbers and sources, and a habit of double-checking your own work. - Working fluency in English; Arabic is useful but not required. Helpful Background You might be finishing a degree, recently graduated, or a year or two into your first role. What matters is that the subject matter interests you. Coursework or independent reading in finance, economics, politics, or international relations tends to be a good signal, as does any research, writing, or analysis you have done for a student publication, internship, or personal project. Familiarity with company filings, financial statements, or regional policy would help you settle in faster. Familiarity with spreadsheets and presentation tools will be useful day to day. None of this is a checklist. If you have strong reasoning and writing and are interested in the subject, we would rather read your work than your transcript. What The Role Offers This is a chance to learn how complex markets actually operate, not how they are described in textbooks. You will work alongside partners who stay involved
